Hi, I'm Marissa Hope. I was born in Irving, Texas in 1991. I grew up in a home with my two wonderful parents, who are pastors. I grew up outside the Dallas area. I was homeschooled along with my two other siblings. My family has always been my best friends and they are always there for me. My parents have taught my siblings and I growing up, that it's ok to be different from the crowd and to pursue your dreams. I have been raised in a musical home. I took piano for three years, then moved on to guitar. I've played guitar for about almost 5 years and "I'm no professional." I took up flute but only got so far with it. I enjoy music very much and didn't think I actually would pursue it as a career.
Growing up, I always wanted to be a Veterinarian. I loved animals and to this day I still do. I never wanted to stop doing schoolwork for the summers. But my mom needed a break since she was teaching three kids who were all a year apart. I'm not a normal girl you would see. I loved school so much. My siblings and I would sit outside and wait for our school books to arrive. I guess, we just loved to learn. When I reached High School, I knew exactly what I was going to do. I was going to be a Vet. But when I got to my junior year of high school, a friend of mine asked me if I really wanted to be a Vet. I really thought I did! Then he asked me what I enjoyed doing in my spare time. It took me a little bit of time to actually think about I really enjoyed besides studying. I told him that I enjoyed songwriting and to design clothes. So he recommended to me pursue my real dreams.
So that's what I'm doing, pursuing the things I love to do. My parents have encouraged us to be who we were created to be not something else. My mom is my inspiration and I want to be able to give back to my parents what they've given to me.
